Adelaide Bates was recently featured in the Geos Institute News for her work in Beaufort. Adelaide connected Beaufort County’s existing resilience plan with Resilient Cities Catalyst, and together they launched a Resilience Accelerator that drew over 60 participants from 40-plus organizations. That momentum grew into a single collaborative working group, meeting every two months and already producing results. Jasper County secured funding to implement a regional stormwater manual through connections made in the group. Now, the Southern Lowcountry Resilience Collaborative is shaping a public data dashboard and inspiring similar efforts in Charleston County.
