Spend your summer making a real impact with the Shi Institute’s 2026 Summer Sustainability Fellowships. Open to all Furman undergraduates (any major, any year), these 10-week paid fellowships (June 8–August 14) offer hands-on sustainability work with campus partners, local governments, nonprofits, and farms across the Upstate.

“Shi has given me such a wonderful group of friends and mentors in the sustainability space which has been so helpful to me as I navigate thinking about what I want to do after I graduate.”

Nabila Wilson, Class of 2027

“The Shi fellowships have allowed me to explore different paths in Sustainability and also shaped the career I would like to pursue in the future. Every summer, there are so many options to choose from whether you are interested in environmental engineering, sustainable food systems, or education and communication programs. I would encourage everyone to become a student fellow because Shi truly provides students with hands-on experiences in analyzing complex systems and solving challenges related to climate change.”
