Dr. Eric Sobolewski (Sobo) is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Furman University in Greenville, SC. He holds a he holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science from Utah State University, a MBA from Weber State University and a PhD from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Dr. Sobo’s research is focused on human performance and muscular physiology. His main focus is how to improve human performance ranging from youth sports to aging populations. He has published manuscripts in an array of journals: Muscle and Nerve, Experimental Gerontology, Journal of Strength and Conditioning, International Journal of Sports Medicine, Clinical Physiology and Functional Imaging, ranging in topics from effects of aging, stretching, strength training and supplementation on muscle function, as well as the development of measures of fatigue and physical preparedness for athletes.

Dr. Sobo truly values the education and promotion of health and exercise. When people hear the word performance they only associate that with sport and exercise but the performance of every day activities is just as important to maintaining a long healthy life. In his free time Dr. Sobo enjoys spending time with his family as well as maintaining a high level of physical activity.
