Dianne Chidester is Professor of Behavioral & Social Sciences at Greenville Technical College where she has been teaching Anthropology and Sociology since 2005.  She began teaching as Lecturer in Anthropology at USC, prior to becoming an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at USD, an Instructor of Behavioral Sciences at Jefferson Technical & Community College, and an Adjunct Professor at Furman UES.  This was achieved after starting at a community college at the age of 40.

Her focus is Cultural Anthropology, but she considers herself a generalist and teaches a five-field approach in Anthropology as well as teaching Sociology.  Experience includes Field Assistant, Pre-historic Archaeology in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Fulbright-Hays Study in Turkey.

Her vocation and avocation is anthropology.  She has traveled to Bimini, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Egypt, England, Iceland, Israel, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, and Turkey.  The bucket list includes a primate field school to study mountain gorillas.

She is also learning about native plants and her yard is a Certified Wildlife Habitat.
