David Rhyne was instrumental in bringing the South Carolina Bach Choir to Greenville in 2014 and has, since then, served as the founding Artistic Director for S.C. Bach, South Carolina’s Bach Society. From August 2007, he worked as a Director of Choral Ensembles at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. He is the founding director of Greenville Early Music, and has over 30 years of experience in sacred music. His research into the music of J.S. Bach has included grants to study at the Oregon Bach Festival and the Bachfest Leipzig. Choirs under his leadership have performed throughout the USA and Europe. Notable performances have included Schonbrunn Palace, Vienna; St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City; and St. Thomas Church, Leipzig.
