Current Role

Dr. Clemson Turregano serves as the Senior Leadership Fellow at Furman University’s Center for Innovative Leadership. Clemson provides a total of over 35 years of global leadership development and delivery experience working with a broad spectrum of international clients. During his decades long career, he has engaged with domestic and international teams responsible for the discovery, design, integration, management, and distribution of leadership development programs. A retired military officer and scholar, Clemson combines his leadership experience, research, design creativity, and easy to use technology to deliver an unparalleled learning experience.

Dr. Turregano's undergraduate degree is from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He earned an MA in Political Science, MPA, and Doctorate from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He also earned a MA in Security and Strategy from the US Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.

Experience

Clemson’s broad span of clients includes the banking and insurance (Raiffeisen bank, Deutsch Bank, Santander, First Mutual, US Bank and others), telecommunications (STC, Ooredoo, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile), in addition to all levels of government and universities (Including Senior Service Colleges, Senior Ministry and Secretariat Officials, Combatant Command Leadership Teams). His C-suite work includes a wide range of commercial leaders, elected and appointed senior government officials, and leaders from the foreign service, defense, education, intelligence, and humanitarian aid. Clemson excels at end-to-end leadership development journeys, using the full spectrum of leadership development research, tools, and designs.

Global Application

Clemson’s professional career has taken him around the world, training in over 30 countries on 6 continents. His expat assignment as the Portfolio Director in Brussels provided a deep international context, and he is familiar creating and delivering designs in different nations and different cultures, across all levels of leadership and experience.

Military Career

Prior to CCL, Clemson served over 24 years in the US Army. Beginning as an infantry soldier and leader, he was commission as an Armor/Cavalry officer. His career followed two tracks – one an operational track where he served on numerous operations in Europe, the Middle East and the Balkans. As a combat commander, he commanded troops during the Kosovo incursion and subsequent peacekeeping operations. When not on operations, Clemson served a professor at the US Military Academy at West Point and later, the US Naval War College in Newport, RI.
