Brian Edwards, Vice President for Marketing and Communications, joined Furman University in August 2025. With more than two decades of experience leading award-winning marketing and communications initiatives, Edwards has helped elevate the visibility, reputation, and enrollment outcomes of institutions across higher education and industry. He brings a data-informed, brand-driven approach to his work, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering measurable results across complex organizations.

Prior to joining Furman, Edwards served as Chief Brand Officer at Robert Morris University, a Division I institution near Pittsburgh, where he led a university-wide transformation of the brand and marketing strategy. His leadership resulted in a significant increase in new student enrollment and national recognition for the “UNSTOPPABLE” campaign. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at technology and consumer brands including ShowClix and 4moms, where he drove global growth and earned honors from Time, CNET, and the Red Dot Design Awards.

Edwards earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Grove City College. He and his wife, Kate, have two daughters, Charlotte and Nora.
