In 2026, Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace may make a run for the South Carolina governor’s seat, which will be vacated by term-limited Gov. Henry McMaster. Mace spoke to a crowd gathered at a Greenville County Republican Party event to gauge her chances in the deep red region. In The Post and Courier, Furman University’s Danielle Vinson, a professor of politics and international affairs, commented on what it will take to win over voters should Mace enter the fray. She said the congresswoman would have to win a significant share of the vote in Greenville County to prevail in the primary. A subscription may be required to view the content.
