The Greenville Journal paid tribute to Furman University’s Nancy Cooper who will retire this year after 36 years of service. An article by Megan Fitzgerald recounts Cooper’s career and impact through the decades and the circumstances that led to her role as director of Heller Service Corps, the university’s largest organization focused on service to the Upstate community. A second “mom” to many on campus, Cooper will retire just prior to commencement in May, she said, to leave campus with the graduating students.
