The Landmark Building in downtown Greenville is getting a remodel and a new name – the Daniel building, the structure’s original name when it was built in the 1960s. WYFF News 4 turned to Furman University’s Courtney Tollison for historical perspective on builder Charles Daniel, owner of the Daniel International Corporation. Tollison, the Distinguished University Public Historian and Scholar at the university, said Daniel was committed to Greenville not only from an infrastructural standpoint but also in terms of economic growth and social development, including eliminating barriers to civil rights.
