Tensley ’12 writes about the kind of electorate Harris is attracting

Brandon Tensley, national politics reporter for Capital B, wrote a column about Vice President Kamala Harris and the electorate she is mobilizing for the presidential election. Tensley, a 2012 Furman University German studies and political science graduate, said Harris is “drawing new energy from the kind of diverse electorate that boosted Barack Obama to victory.” Tensley said Obama sailed into the White House in 2008 by “assembling a wide coalition of voters who were at the time the most diverse electorate ever, attracting nonwhite and younger voters in droves.”

Formerly a CNN Politics reporter, Tensley holds a master’s in politics from the University of Oxford. He was also a Luce Scholar in Thailand and a Fulbright Scholar in Germany.
