Tate Walters ’24 trades places at local news station

Tate Walters 24, a communications studies major and member of the Furman Women’s Basketball team, made her on-camera debut at WSPA 7News. Normally behind the scenes in her internship role at the station, Tate appeared on set with “Your Carolina” host Megan Heidlberg. Walters spoke about the student-athlete balance and the joy she derives from playing the game she loves. She also commented on how the game is preparing her for life after college.

Besides putting points on the board this season, Walters will tap her design skills as part of the Master of Arts in Strategic Design program.
