News organizations cover Timmons Arena groundbreaking

Several local TV stations covered Furman University’s groundbreaking ceremony for the $40 million Timmons Arena renovation, the largest donor-funded project in the university’s history. FOX Carolina, WYFF News 4 (NBC) and WSPA 7 News (CBS) were on hand for the event, which took place Saturday, April 13. Construction is expected to be complete by fall 2025. On the FOX Carolina clip, hear comments from Furman’s Jason Donnelly, vice president for intercollegiate athletics, Pierre Curtis, women’s head basketball coach, and Bob Richey, men’s head basketball coach. Renderings of the renovation project and comments from Richey appear in the WYFF coverage.
