Furman University’s annual MLK Community Breakfast took place Friday, Jan. 17, with political strategist L. Joy Williams headlining the event. FOX Carolina’s Myra Ruiz was there to cover the commemoration and spoke to South Carolina State Representative Chandra Dillard (District 23), who serves as director of community relations at the university. Dillard commented on the relevance of celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. and noted his “blueprint for peaceful protest.” WYFF News 4 also brought a crew to Younts Conference Center, which hosted about 200 attendees for the breakfast.
