ACHIEVEMENTS

1975

NANCY COX ’75, the dean of the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment (CAFE) at the University of Kentucky and the first-ever vice president for land-grant engagement, retired in summer 2024.

1976

MARK MOSHER ’76 retired after 43 years of veterinary practice.

1984

CHRISTOPHER BALLARD ’84  was inducted into the Army ROTC Hall of Fame in November 2024. He spent 35 years as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army and retired in 2019 at the rank of major general.

RICHARD EDWARDS ’84 joined the Louisville, Ky., office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC asa counsel and associate in March 2024.

1985

DAVID OUZTS ’85 went on his third sabbatical from Church of the Holy Communion (Episcopal) in Memphis, Tenn. He spent two weeks at the Cambridge (U.K.) Summer Choral Institute coaching voice, organ and choral conducting in summer 2024.

1986

LISA WHEELER WRIGHT ’86 retired from the 380th Army Band in February 2024 after more than 26 years of service.

1988

ANNE CHERRY STONE ’88 has joined the South Carolina Department of Education’s Office of Adult Education as an educational associate with a primary role of supporting college and career navigators.

1989

RONALD “RON” CRAIG ’89 retired from IBM in October 2024 after 29 years. He is currently a staff officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

1991

GARY CUDDEBACK ’91 was named dean of Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Social Work in October 2024. He joined VCU in 2021 and has served as interim dean since July 2023.

1994

MARK CLARY ’94, a certified financial planner with McBee Avenue Wealth Advisors, has been named a 2024 Best-In-State Wealth Advisor by Forbes for three consecutive years.

1997

BRADFORD “BRADD” PARTON ’97 recently had five string orchestra compositions published by C. Alan Publications, three of which were selected as “Editors’ Choice” by music retailer J. W. Pepper.

WILLIAM “BILL” PRIESTLEY ’97
accepted a position as the assistant director of student media at Vanderbilt University.

2001

ASHLEY CORDOVA ’01 was named chief executive officer at Novocure in January 2025.

2002

AUDREY CASTELLON ’02 was named development and marketing director of The Vashti Center in April 2024.

JACQUELINE “JACKIE” HEARNE ’02 is going to Japan for Senior Service College.

2004

RICHARD “RICK” WRENN ’04 released his new book, “A Pragmatist’s Guide to Energizing the USA,” in September 2024.

2005

JOSHUA “JOSH” SLAGLE ’05 has been appointed chief executive officer of EDGE Industrial Technologies.

JENNIFER TATUM ’05 was promoted to vice president of capital markets and leasing at Skanska, a global leader in development and construction.

2007

TREVOR CUTSINGER ’07 has joined the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities as vice president of natural capital solutions.

LEONARD GALLOWAY M’07 has been appointed assistant superintendent for student services in Anderson School District Five.

2009

DAVID EHRLICH ’09 was named partner at Holland & Knight’s Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Securities Practice Group in New York.

2010

PAUL KLINE ’10 began a new position as assistant professor of physical therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University in February 2024.

SCOTT PARNELL ’10 joined St. James Episcopal Church in Skaneateles, N.Y., as reverend.

2012

MICHAEL BREARLEY ’12 was named chief operating officer at Hughes Development Corp. in Greenville, S.C.

PAUL LACHES ’12 was named principal at Southwood Academy of the Arts in Anderson, S.C.

2013

CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” LEVENTIS ’13 was named partner at Level Financial Group, LLC in Columbia, S.C.

2014

EMILY JESKE ’14 was named partner at Bosquez Porter Family Law in Raleigh, N.C. In December 2023, she also became a board-certified specialist in family law by the North Carolina State Bar.

2019

ETHAN JEDZINIAK ’19 joined Turner Padget in Greenville, S.C., as a litigation associate.

2024

ALEXANDER “ALEX” THRELKELD ’24 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program grant to Germany for the 2024-2025 academic year.
