Local news outlets run stories about U.S. News and World Report’s ‘Best Colleges’

Following U.S. News & World Report’s annual release of its “Best Colleges” report, several news outlets ran stories. Furman University, which moved up one spot to No. 45 among liberal arts and sciences universities and ranks No. 7 for “most innovative,” appears in the coverage. Among all universities in the country, Furman ranks:

  • 22nd for best first-year experience (above Yale, Michigan, Auburn and other schools)
  • 32nd for best undergraduate research program (tied with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Furman is the seventh-ranked liberal arts and sciences university in the South, and the highest ranked university in South Carolina.
