Gibson ’81 comments on growing chasm between Vatican and traditionalist American Catholics

Ali Rogin, correspondent for PBS “News Weekend” and foreign affairs producer for PBS “NewsHour,” speaks with Furman University alumnus David Gibson ’81 about the growing rift between traditionalist American Catholics and the Vatican. Gibson, an award-winning journalist and author who studied European history at Furman, is director of the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham University in New York. He comments on Pope Francis and his move to upend the status quo among some conservative-leaning American Catholic leaders.
