Kari Beal of FOX Carolina News hosted a live podcast on the campus of Furman University Sept. 30 called “The Wellness Files: Who Was This Medicine Made For?” The talk, which took place in Younts Conference Center, featured Furman’s Dr. Shaniece Criss, associate professor of Health Sciences, and Dr. Kerry Sease, executive director of the Institute for the Advancement of Community Health. The panelists discussed representation (or lack thereof) for clinical trials. Beal promoted the event on FOX Carolina’s “Access Carolina” morning show. On Wednesday, Beal spoke with Criss and Sease ahead of the event about the importance of inclusion for better health outcomes for all.
