Furman’s ‘Music By The Lake’ series a gift to the community
Furman’s Music By The Lake concert series wraps July 27.
As the Music By The Lake concert series winds down, Sue Samuels, alumna and director of Furman Bands, reminds WYFF News 4 viewers there’s still time to catch live music at Furman University’s amphitheater. She spoke to WYFF’s Jane Robelot about the long tradition of free concerts held each Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at the outdoor venue. The remaining concerts in “The Sounds of Summer” are:
July 6, 7:30 p.m., Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble
July 13, 7:30 p.m., Lakeside Concert Band
July 20, 7:30 p.m., Matt Olson Group
July 27, 7:30 p.m., Lakeside Concert Band
Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic and enjoy twilight tunes. Rain location is McAlister Auditorium on campus.
