Furman University’s Brent Nelsen, a professor of politics and international affairs, spoke to FOX Carolina on two occasions to discuss former President Donald Trump’s arraignment, which took place in New York April 4. On April 3, Nelsen spoke with anchor Justin Dougherty about how Trump will navigate criminal charges while running for the Republican nomination for president. Nelsen said if anyone can spin the news his way, it’s Donald Trump. At the same time, Nelsen added, “I wouldn’t actually want to be his campaign manager right now, because it’s a really tricky path to take.” Nelsen also appeared with FOX Carolina’s Hayley Spitler, anchor and producer, just hours ahead of the arraignment. Trump was later indicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.
