Furman president says new admissions philosophy key to survival

Furman has revamped its admission policy, placing less emphasis on test scores and more on character.  The results have been encouraging. This fall, the university enrolled its largest and most diverse class ever.  Moreover, Furman is attracting  applicants in record numbers. GreenvilleOnline’s Ron Barnett authored an article on this shift that was posted on the website Sunday.
