Furman included in U.S. News’ list of ’30 Beautiful College Campuses’

U.S. News and World Report has listed Furman University among its 30 U.S. colleges and universities known for campus beauty. The schools were selected based on their reputation for stunning architecture, landscaping and picturesque settings. Furman ranks 45th among all national liberal arts colleges, scoring the No. 21 spot for “best undergraduate teaching” and, across all universities, No. 18 for “best first-year experience,” according to the magazine’s 2026 “Best Colleges” numbers.

Furman’s inclusion in the list of “30 Beautiful College Campuses” underscores one more important reason students are drawn to the university that sits at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. USNWR mentions accolades from other publications and notes features like Furman’s signature Italianate bell tower overlooking Furman Lake, the campus’s wooded setting, and ample spaces for quiet reflection like the Janie Earle Furman Rose Garden and the Asia Garden.

A March 10 update from USNWR places Furman University in the No. 16 spot among “35 Beautiful College Campuses.” FOX Carolina aired the news in its morning broadcasts on March 13. TV links are temporary and generally expire after 90 days.
