Furman University has once again been included in Princeton Review’s “The Best 390 Colleges” publication. Furman has made the list, which includes the top 15% of universities in the country, every year since it began 42 years ago.

Princeton Review’s “Best 390 Colleges” again includes Furman.

This year, Furman also made the “Best South” list, including public and private universities in the South, and the “Green Campus” list of environmentally responsible schools. Rankings are based on student surveys conducted in the 2023-2024 academic year.

Furman received a record number of applications this year: 10,813 high schoolers applied to be a Paladin; 4,645 were admitted and 616 enrolled. This year’s acceptance rate, 42.96%, is lower than the 53% for last year published in the Princeton Review.

Faculty fared well in student responses to the survey. One student said the faculty “love teaching and instilling a passion for growth, inquiry and engagement.” Another said, “the overwhelming majority of professors at Furman are experts in their field and truly care about helping students succeed.”

About their peers, one respondent called Furman students a “community of open-minded people” who are “willing to help one another.”
