Furman history alumnus named president of University of Saint Francis

Furman University history alumnus Lance Richey ’88 has been named president of the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after serving as interim president since May 2023. During his time at the University of Saint Francis, Richey has served as vice president of Academic Affairs, dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the director of the John Duns Scotus Honors Program. In addition to his bachelor’s from Furman, Richey holds doctorates in philosophy and religious studies from Marquette University. He will be inaugurated June 7.
