Furman Board of Trustees approves faculty promotions and tenure

The Furman University Board of Trustees approved promotions and tenure for a number of faculty members during its spring meeting in May. All recommendations for promotion and tenure are effective Aug. 1, 2025.
The following faculty members were granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor:
- Anastasia Christofakis (Music)
- Yang Gao (Sociology)
- Mac Gilliland (Chemistry)
- Darren Hick (Philosophy)
- Holly Pinheiro (History)
- Santiago Quintero (Modern Languages and Literatures)
- Kaniqua Robinson (Anthropology)
- Grace Stadnyk (Mathematics)
The following faculty members were promoted to the rank of Professor:
- Diane Boyd (Faculty Development Center)
- Jason Hansen (History)
- Adam Richards (Communication Studies)
- Meghan Slining (Health Sciences)
- Ben Snyder (Health Sciences)
- Michele Speitz (English)
- Tim Wardle (Religion)
The following faculty member, who holds the rank of Professor, was recommended for tenure:
- Kathleen Casey (History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies)
The following faculty member was granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Professor:

The following faculty members were promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer:
