Theatre Arts presents ‘Theatre/Theater’ by Randall David Cook ’91

The Furman University Department of Theatre Arts will present “Theatre/Theater” by Randall David Cook ’91 for several performances Oct. 15-23 in The Playhouse on campus. Season flex passes and fall single tickets are on sale now. Single ticket prices are $20 general admission, $15 for seniors and $10 for students. Reserved seats for Furman students are $5. Tickets for Furman students with ID are free at the door.

The drama doesn’t stop when the curtain goes up. Go behind the scenes of a Southern regional theatre company mounting “Romeo and Juliet,” where the real action isn’t always onstage. From box office to backstage, from donor events to dressing rooms, personalities collide, egos bruise, and alliances shift as the production barrels toward opening night. With sharp wit and affectionate insight, this fast-moving comedy captures the beautifully chaotic world of theatre-making, where timing is everything, nothing goes quite as planned and the offstage drama can rival Shakespeare’s own. It’s messy. It’s hilarious. It’s all too real. Run time is approximately 90 minutes. Sponsored by the Furman Humanities Center.
