The Furman Department of Art presents the work of Bellingham, Washington-based Lisa Turner in “Bodily Impressions” Friday, Jan. 5, through Friday, Jan. 26, in Thompson Gallery of the Roe Art Building on campus. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The exhibition features several series of print-based works by Turner and addresses concerns related to the social and environmental implications of consumer culture. Turner’s work combines language, medical sciences and history to make humorous and pointed statements about the interconnectedness of our bodies with the consumer goods that come to comprise us.
