Coach Bob Richey named finalist for Coach of the Year Award

College Insider reported that Furman Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bob Richey has been named a finalist for the Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Award. The award goes to the top mid-major Division I college basketball coach. Richey led the Paladins to a 27-7 season, a share of the Southern Conference regular season title and, after beating UT Chattanooga 88-79, the SoCon Tournament Championship. The win will send Furman to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1980. The award will be announced during the NCAA championship weekend. WYFF 4News and WSPA also reported the news.
