Carnegie Hall … now what?
Few 9th graders make it to one of the pinnacles of the music world. But Florence, S.C. musician Gabe Smallwood had his debut at Carnegie Hall after submitting a winning composition to a young musicians contest sponsored by the celebrated music venue. After four years of additional training at South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Smallwood finds himself at Furman University where he is studying music composition and piano performance.
