A History of Alabama

After retiring as director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History, Edwin Bridges decided to write a new book about the history of the state.  The book, Alabama: The Making of an American State, was released just as the state approaches its 200^th birthday.  Bridges, who graduated from Furman in 1967 and received his Master of Arts and doctorate in history from the University of Chicago, was featured in the Anniston Star.
