The Furman University Department of Theatre Arts has announced its 2025-2026 season, “The Seen and Unseen.” From magical musicals to razor-sharp comedies, physical storytelling to dance-driven empathy, the season reveals the stories we tell, the ones we hide, and the truths that live between.

All shows take place in The Playhouse on the Furman campus. Season subscriptions are available for $40. Individual tickets for the three non-musical shows are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. Single ticket prices for the musical “Between the Lines” are $20 general admission, $15 for seniors, $10 for students (reserved seats), and $5 for students (general seating). Single tickets go on sale two weeks before the show opens.

“A ClownShow”
Wednesday, Sept. 24, through Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m.
Created by the company and directed by Doug Berky ’95

In “A ClownShow,” Furman Theatre Arts brings total mayhem in this comically shambolic clown show crafted by the ensemble and designed to delight family audiences and the young at heart.

“Between the Lines”
Wednesday, Nov. 5, through Friday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 11, through Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m.
Music and lyrics by Kate Anderson and Elyssa Samsel
Book by Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald
Directed by Maegan McNerney Azar
Music directed by Chase McAbee ’12
Choreographed by Michael Cherry

What if the story that understood you came to life? This enchanting new musical blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, offering a heartfelt reminder that stories can be more than escape.

“The Importance of Being Earnest”
by Oscar Wilde
Wednesday, Feb. 18, through Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 21, and Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m.
Directed by Rhett Bryson

A comedy so sharp, it still stings. Oscar Wilde’s most celebrated play is a dazzling farce of mistaken identities, secret lives and far too many cucumber sandwiches.

“HumanKind: be both”
Wednesday, April 15, through Saturday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m.
Created by the company
Directed and choreographed by Helen Joy
