Several local news outlets reported on a $5 million grant from the American Heart Association and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to Furman’s Institute for the Advancement of Community Health and LiveWell Greenville. The grant, spread over five years, will find new ways to increase community participation in research, with the ultimate goal of eliminating disparities in diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. It will also create a post-doctoral training program to carry on the research.
The Greenville News, The Business Narrative, WSPA, and WYFF covered the story.
