Furman alumnus David Laxer ’87, a member of the Furman University Board of Trustees, was featured in a CBS Saturday Morning segment about his restaurant, Bern’s Steakhouse. A Tampa, Florida, fixture started by his parents in 1953, the restaurant’s specialty is aged chateaubriand along with other classics that have been on the menu for decades. The restaurant also boasts the largest working wine room in the world with 110,000 bottles dating from vintage 1845 to 2019.

When Laxer spoke with CBS’s Jeff Glor amid a table laden with samples, he remembered to wear his diamond F Furman lapel pin. See the entire interview (about eight minutes) on CBS.
