The Paladins closed out a difficult spring season Saturday with a 55-8 loss to Southern Rugby Conference power Appalachian State.

The loss dropped the Paladins to 1-4 on the spring season. The squad lost four players for the season during the Southern Conference Tournament in early January. A week later, 8-man Drew Callaghan and center Tuner Morches were lost for the season due to injury.

Depleted and left with a young, but promising, team, the Paladins struggled through the spring with a lone bright spot being the team’s 48-22 victory at the Citadel. Furman closes the 2011-12 campaign with a 6-6 record.
