Fall Orientation

August 21-24, 2020

A carnival? A picnic at the president’s house? A field day? It must be time for “Fall O.”

Fall Orientation is a four-day experience that you’ll never forget. This mandatory session gives students a starting point in how to interact with others, how to traverse academics, and in many cases, how to deal with living with someone for the first time. Put simply, it sets the tone for your four years of college life.

Fall O includes programs about how to tackle your first year at Furman, diversity, getting involved, eating well, and, of course, a crash course in managing the shift from high school to college. But it’s more than a “how-to” session. With everything from a carnival to an outdoor movie on the big screen, there are plenty of fun and games.

Move in Day

Residence halls open for new students on August 21 at 9 a.m. When you arrive on campus, follow the signs directing you to your specific residence hall. You will need to check in with your Resident Assistant to receive your room key and important Fall Orientation information. You will find them on your residence hall floor, in the RA room.

And don’t worry – we will have a team of Orientation Leaders and other members of the Furman community available to help unload your car and move your belongings into your new room!
