- IACH Research Internship — Community Engagement Studio: This internship offers undergraduate students the opportunity to assist in developing a Community Engagement Studio focused on health equity, where they’ll gain hands-on experience in community empowerment, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and data analysis while contributing to impactful health initiatives. What is a community engagement studio? A Community Engagement Studio (CES) is a collaborative space or program designed to bring together community members, organizations, and researchers to work on projects that address local needs and create solutions, often through community-based participatory research.
- IACH Research Internship — Community Based Participatory Research: Join our internship to assist in a nationwide study on community-based participatory research (CBPR) in health equity! Gain hands-on experience in multi-disciplinary collaboration, data collection, and understanding the impact of social determinants on health. CBPR is an approach to research that actively involves community members in the research process, from identifying the issues to designing and conducting the study, to analyzing and applying the results. The goal is to ensure that the research is relevant, respectful, and beneficial to the community, while addressing local needs and promoting social change.
- IACH Research Internship — Medical Legal Partnership: Assist in a research project on the Upstate Medical Legal Partnership (MLP), supporting data collection, analysis, and visualization, while learning about multi-disciplinary healthcare and the impact of social determinants on patient outcomes. Gain hands-on experience working with researchers, doctors, and legal professionals. The MLP partnership helps patients by addressing legal problems—such as housing instability, access to public benefits, or discrimination—that impact their health and well-being. By integrating legal services into healthcare settings, MLPs aim to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities by providing holistic support to patients.
- IACH Unity Health on Main Fellowship: This internship offers hands-on experience in bilingual patient screening, front office support, and program evaluation while learning about social determinants of health, supporting vulnerable populations, and assessing the effectiveness of grant-funded projects. It also provides insight into multi-disciplinary care models and collaborative partnerships to improve patient outcomes.
