Please join us for a special professional development opportunity coming to Furman University’s Younts Conference Center in February 2025! This two-day conference is a partnership between Furman University’s Institute for the Advancement of Community Health (IACH) and the Institute for Child Success (ICS).

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, February 27, 2025:  Desmond P. Kelly, MD Nurturing Developing Minds Conferencesponsored by ICS.

Friday, February 28, 2025:  Eighth annual Community Health Forum, sponsored by IACH.

  • 9 a.m. Keynote Address: Brian C. Castrucci, DrPH, President & Chief Executive Officer, de Beaumont Foundation.
  • 10:15 a.m. Keynote Speaker: Kirsten Naomi Chapman, M.Ed., EdD, Executive Director of Greenville Racial Equity and Economic Mobility (REEM GVL) and Vice President of Systems Change & Innovation at United Way of Greenville County.

11 a.m. Moderated Panel Discussion, “Promoting Health Equity Through Community Collaboration,” moderated by IACH Community Action Director Dr. Melissa Fair with

  • Kirby Mitchell, SC Legal Services and Legal Director of the Upstate Medical Legal Partnership (MLP).
  • Maya Pack, Executive Director of the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health.
