COVID-19 vaccinations on campus this Saturday

Dear Campus Community,

Furman has partnered with Bon Secours Health System to offer the Pfizer vaccine to students and employees this Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Younts Conference Center. Appointments are available for those receiving their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Students will have first priority.

Students, faculty and staff, see your email for a link to  register for an appointment (first-come, first-served).

There will be a limited number of vaccines available at this on-campus clinic, so priority will be given in the order below and a waiting list will be established, if necessary.

  • 1st – Furman students
  • 2nd – Furman faculty and staff (in order of registration)
  • 3rd – Family of Furman employees

Students, if this is your first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, you do not have to be in Greenville in three weeks for the second dose, but can schedule your second dose with a pharmacy back home. Depending on the need, we may arrange for a second clinic in May for faculty and staff to get the second dose, as well as students who plan to be here for May X or summer.

If this is your second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, your first dose should have been administered before March 27.

For anyone with questions about the development, efficacy and safety of COVID-19 vaccines, please registerto join the conversation this Wednesday, April 14, from 5-6 p.m. (CLP credit pending). This event will feature four Furman faculty members as well as two distinguished guests from the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (Dr. Jane Kelly and Dr. Rick Foster), including experts in the fields of immunology, biochemistry, epidemiology, medicine and bioethics.

Students, faculty and staff may also use https://vaxlocator.dhec.sc.gov as a resource to schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Students and employees who are fully vaccinated and registered with the ESHC (students) or Human Resources (faculty and staff) will no longer be included in our surveillance testing program and will not have to quarantine due to an exposure.

If you have any questions, please email furman.focused@furman.ed
