Navigating potential funding opportunities can be challenging even for seasoned faculty. This session, featuring Michelle Epp and Bri Pochard, from the Grants and Research Administration Office, and faculty grant managers Kaniqua Robinson (Anthropology) and Grace Stadnyk (Mathematics) will explore internal and external funding sources, highlight past successes of Furman faculty, and discuss strategic approaches to teaching awards, residencies, and fellowship programs.
While part of the First Year @ Furman program, this session welcomes faculty of all ranks and academic staff.
AI in Action: Collaborations with AI in Student Research
April 14, 12:30–1:20 p.m.
Professor Jessica Hennessey (Economics) will share her innovative approach to incorporating AI into student research collaborations. This session, part of the FDC’s “AI in Action” series, offers practical insights for faculty interested in thoughtfully integrating AI tools into their pedagogy.
For optimal engagement, please bring a laptop or tablet. Previous attendance at earlier sessions is not required, though participants who attend all three sessions will be eligible to win a signed copy of ChatGPT Assignments to Use in Your Classroom Today by Kevin Yee.
