Developing Anti-Racist Syllabus

Building on our inclusive syllabus conversation, participants will reconsider course policies using an antiracist lens. After a large group discussion in which we define “antiracist” (using in part Ibraim X. Kendi’s work; a summary is available here), small groups will examine a sample set of common class policies (attendance, late work acceptance, class participation) using guided prompts and suggest modifications for improvement. Following a debrief discussion, participants will consider their own course policies through an antiracist lens. This introductory workshop is open to all who teach (attendance at our previous Inclusive Syllabus workshop is not required). Please register here.
