Celebrating Teaching and Learning: Open Classroom

September 26-27, 2019
All day

To celebrate the Furman community’s commitment to teaching and learning, we invite you to Furman’s first “Open Classroom” event on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27, 2019.

You can join us in two ways: by opening your classroom(s) to other faculty on campus and/or by visiting our colleagues’ classes. This is an opportunity to learn something new outside of your discipline, as well as see different teaching styles and classroom management approaches in action. It’s also a way to model intellectual curiosity to our students.

Open your classroom
You do not need to modify your syllabus or change your lesson plan—it’s just business as usual. If you would like to participate, you can list your class here.

Visit other classrooms
If you are not teaching on the 26th or 27th, or if you have an exam that day, or feel uncomfortable having visitors in your classroom, we encourage you to participate by visiting others’ classes. We will be posting a list of open classes here soon.

We hope to see a lot of us running to classes like our students on Thursday and Friday!
