Multimodal assignments—infographics, podcasts, digital stories, data visualizations, and more—are increasingly central to how students communicate ideas. This workshop explores strategies for helping students analyze multimodal genres rhetorically, understand design conventions, and make intentional choices as composers. We’ll look at models from multiple disciplines, discuss scaffolding techniques, and consider how multimodal work can enhance students’ transfer of writing knowledge into new contexts.
