In this panel discussion, instructors from across the university will reflect on the principles and intentions that guide their work as educators. Panelists include Scott Henderson (Education), Grace Freundlich (Biology), Kevin Kao (Art), and Angeli Leal (Modern Languages & Literatures).

Together, we’ll explore how understanding our own teaching philosophy can clarify purpose, strengthen pedagogical choices, and enrich our experience in the classroom. While the session will offer helpful insight for faculty preparing third-year or tenure and promotion materials, it is equally designed for any instructor interested in examining the “why” behind their teaching and engaging in an open discussion about the principles that anchor meaningful educational practice. Please arrive a few minutes early to grab lunch in the TDR before the discussion begins.
