Foundations of Leadership
Effective leadership is crucial in navigating the complexities of today’s dynamic environments. By offering a program like Foundations of Leadership, the Center for Innovative Leadership aims to equip participants with essential skills, knowledge and insights to excel in leadership roles. We look to empower individuals and the organizations behind them to realize their full potential, drive meaningful change and make a positive impact on the Upstate’s social, economic and cultural landscape.
This immersive one-day course was created with new and aspiring leaders in mind. Participants will engage in practical exercises to enhance the research-backed information provided, creating an environment that nurtures growth for each person. Our goal is for everyone to leave prepared to implement what they’ve learned about leading with authenticity and self-awareness and make a commitment to their future leadership development.

Fee: $995 (Option to pay full cost or pay with installments after an initial deposit, 20% discount available for non-profit and government organizations)
Course Content
Explore themes of Direction, Alignment and Commitment—essential pillars that inspire purpose, foster collaboration and ignite lasting change in leadership. Learn more about being a leader and how to make positive changes in groups and communities by participating in interactive exercises.
Understand the difference between Brand and Reputation. By crafting your personal leadership brand, you will gain clarity on strengths, values and aspirations as a leader. Learn to align your actions and behaviors with your desired leadership image to enhance authenticity and credibility in any interaction.
The importance of learning how to receive and provide constructive feedback cannot be understated for anyone in a leadership role. By mastering this concept, learn how to provide constructive feedback that fosters improvement and development in others to enhance team dynamics and performance.
Learn to listen to others attentively to foster deeper connections and empathy. You will enhance the capacity to understand diverse perspectives, resolve conflicts constructively and inspire trust and collaboration among team members. Through this, you can cultivate a culture of respect, inclusivity and innovation.
