Furman University Announces New Alumni Board and Young Alumni Council Leadership

The Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement is excited to announce new executive officers and members for the Alumni Association Board of Directors and Young Alumni Council.
With dedication and commitment to alma mater, these new members will serve Furman University and represent the broad alumni community. They participate actively in the life of the University, act as ambassadors among fellow alumni, offer guidance and feedback to university leadership, invest financially, and commit to strengthening the alumni network.
Doug Stinson ’01 of Knoxville Tennessee begins a two-year term as President of the Alumni Board, and he is joined by Vice President Patrick Kerley ’04 of Washington, DC and Secretary Stowe Barber ’94 of Charlotte, NC.
Accepting emeritus appointments are Don Corbin ’64, James N. Martin ’79, and John Plyler ’56.

The Young Alumni Council is comprised of members who graduated within the past 15 years. Dixon Dabbs ’09 of Greenville, SC, leads the Executive Committee as President, and he is joined by Vice President Cindy Youssef Riyad ’07 of Lakeland, FL and Secretary Jodi Walker ’10 of Asheville, NC.
