Academic Profile

Furman practices a holistic, selective admission process in which we assess traditional measures of academic success — rigor of curriculum, grades and test scores (optional), as well as extracurricular involvement, special talents and life experience. Beyond the application, we value personally connecting with each applicant in order to get to know students better and learn more about their interest in Furman. The ranges below reflect the middle 50% of students who were competitive for admission in the Class of 2027. Our goal each year is to enroll a well-rounded first-year class, academically accomplished and diverse in every dimension.
