This fall, Dr. Womack will be offering a new course titled the Archaeology of East Asia, which will explore the archeology of China, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia.

Students will become informed of the development of societies from 10,000 BCE up to 400 CE. There will be discussion surrounding domestication, the exchange of goods, social hierarchy, and modern politics and its connection to interpretations of the past.

Students with additional interest in the intersection of Anthropology and Asian Studies should also check out classes such as Survey of Chinese Literature, Chinese Civilization, Survey of Chinese Literature, Classical Japanese Fiction, or Classical Chinese Fiction.

Our major provides a wide-ranging, intersectional approach to learning, combining history, literature, anthropology, language, and religion in our curriculum for our three degrees.
