South Housing Groundbreaking

February 12, 2022

Dear Campus Community,

We will embark on the largest construction project the university has ever undertaken when we break ground this week on a comprehensive renovation of South Housing.

If you’re available, I hope you will join student leaders, members of the project team and our Board of Trustees for an official groundbreaking ceremony this Saturday, February 12, at 11 a.m. on Blackwell Field, between Blackwell Hall and the Trone Student Center.

As we announced in January, the South Housing project will include building a new residence hall, which will also house the Center for Inclusive Communities, and renovating four other halls in the housing village devoted to first-year students. Construction of the new residence hall will begin in March and is expected to be completed by Fall 2023.

You can learn more about this exciting project here, and we will continue to post updates on our news site and through social media as the project progresses.

Warmly,

Elizabeth Davis
President
