Emily Schuck named VP for Enrollment Management

February 24, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to announce Emily Schuck as our new vice president for Enrollment Management. Emily will begin this role on June 1.

Emily, whose last name is pronounced “shook,” is currently the assistant vice president for Enrollment Management at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Over a 22-year career in higher education, she has managed every aspect of the enrollment process, innovating data-driven approaches to recruitment and financial aid. She has also lectured and written on topics of leadership.

Emily is a very creative, savvy and forward-thinking professional. She understands the liberal arts and sciences mission and will position Furman well in the competitive and ever-evolving realm of enrollment management. She will be a tremendous colleague and a champion for our students.

Emily said, “Furman has an exceptional national reputation as a university with unparalleled academics and a vibrant student life program, and its students, faculty and staff are engaged in the community. I’m looking forward to working with everyone to help move The Furman Advantage forward.”

You can read a Furman news story with more details here.

I would like to thank the search committee for their work. The committee members were Jeremy Cass, dean of faculty and professor of Spanish; Jason Donnelly, vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics; Tom Evelyn (chair), vice president for University Communications; Jessica Hennessey, professor of Economics; Rod Kelley, assistant dean of Student Conduct; and Susan Maddux, vice president for Finance and Administration.

Please join me in welcoming Emily to the Furman family.
