The Furman Advantage: Here’s what I participated in!

Internships - I was a Sports Medicine intern primarily with Furman's football team for two years. I was also a RISE intern with the Riley Institute and Sustaining Way(non-profit organization) addressing gentrification in the Nicholtown community in Greenville.
Study Away- Last summer I went on a May Experience (MayX) titled "From the South to South Africa: Civil Rights Across the Atlantic". We traveled to Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town, South Africa, comparing the Civil Rights movements in Southern United States to South Africa.

These three words capture Furman for me:

Family. Opportunities. Support.

What is your favorite moment at Furman?

One of my favorite memories is traveling with the basketball team to games in Alabama and Georgia, where we visited a Furman alumna's home for dinner, roasted marshmallows, and made s'mores.

What is your favorite “go-to” meal on campus?

My favorite meal on campus is a poke bowl with salmon, white rice, cucumbers, avocados, and lettuce from Sushi with Gusto!

What is your favorite tradition at Furman?

My favorite Furman tradition is the float-making ("pomping") competition during Homecoming.
